Interchange of Trallle Provided. Things do not look so gloomy for the people of the State who live on th.j line ot the former "Three C's" railroad. Great tineasiness was expressed as to the future when it became known that the Southern system in taking charge of the S. 0. & CJa., was debarred by the constitution from touching this property. An ollicial statement is made that in pursuance ol the policy recently outlined before the Railroad Commission of South Carolina regarding the interchange of traffic {between the Southern Railway company and the South Carolina and Georgia Extension Railroad company, there has been a conference between the executive officers of the South Carolina and Georgia Extension Railroad company operating the Ohio River and Charleston railroad and the Southern Railway company, and an understanding has been mutually reached, und-r which the interchange of traffic between the Charleston division of the Southern railway (formerly operated as the South Carolina and Georgia Railway company ), and the South Carolina and Georgia Extension Railroad company will be fully maintained, and a basis for interchanging traffic between the other divisions of the Southern Railway company and the South Carolina and Georgia Extension Railroad company will he inaugurated to the advantage of the South Carolina and (Jeoriga Extension Railroad ^company. A gentleman interested, speaking of this announcement, said: ' The broad policy pursued by I the Southern Railway company in this matter is in lino with its general policy and will be gratifying to the people of the State served by the lines of the South Carolina and Georgia Extension Railroad company.'' The rates on a basis of which the interchange of trallic will take) place will be in accordance with I the national and State laws and without discrimination either as to persons or localities.
