The moat perplexing duty the recent convention hud to perform was to endorse the actions of the county treasurer, as it was well known beforehand that it Was to be forced to do so, and the question was how to bring the delegates from the rural districts up to the scratch. As they were entirely ignorunt of the workings ol the treasurers office, and moat of them were not aware that a majority of their representatives in the Assembly were at odds with the first honest Administration of the State since the war, it was decided to hitch an approving clause of the treasurers course, on a resolution giving a lnkew arm endorsement of Gov, ChamberlainAlfred Williams was selected as best fitted to draw up a paper intended to exonorate the treasurer, annihilate the Tribune and wind np with a weak approval of + )._ n?.-? ? ?j i- - . ..... uuisiuum biiuioc, ttnu ue concoc.iea tlie following resolutions which were declared the sense of the convention. Whereas, certain charges hnve been made sgninst Geo.
