WAR MEDALS WIN PAROLE Only Man in Newark Who Slew Six Germans Single-Handed A Congressional Medal won for shooting Germans came in handy for Frank Sadowski of Newark last week when he was arrested for shooting cats on the back fence of his home. Until the medal was produced Sadowski had excellent prospects of going to jail in default of $1,000 bail on a charge of carrying concealed weapons. Acting Judge Yuill had fixed bail and Sadowski was being.led to his | cell when an attendant whispered to the judge; "He's the only man in Newark who has a Congressional Med- $1 al." a "Why didn't you tell me that?" j| asked the Judge. ?5 "I forgot about it and I wouldn't | have thought it had anything to do k with this," the prisoner answered. ^ He spoke to a friend who rt turned g| with three medals, the Congressional. jg the Croix de Guerre and the Italian j| War Cross.
