Baumgartner. The new member is Mr. Tom Dowtin III, a graduate of the University of Georgia. He serv ed as 1st Lt. Quartermaster Corps at Hoi An, South Viet nam. Mr. Dowtin is the son of the late Mr. Thomas Dowtin, Jr. His mother was formerly Mary Hill, a former resident of New berry. • Mr. Dowtin’s principal respon sibilities at Baumlanda Services will be related to forest manage ment and land surveying. C. on January 11, 1972. An ordinance to adopt that document known as Uniform Subdivision Regulations. An ordinance to adopt an optional method of promptly enforcing collection, handling, and disbursing delinquent property taxes, effective January 1, 1973. An ordinance to annex into the City Limits a sixteen (16) acre portion of Rosemont Cemetery. Mayor & City Council According to Mr. Brooks, the assembly will include a variety of talks on various Bible sub jects. Groups of ministers will discuss better and more effec tive ways on how Christians should conduct themselves as outlined in the Holy Scriptures. The house-to-house ministry and home Bible study activity will be highlighted by discussion and practical demonstrations. The Christian gathering will )e sponsored by the Watch- ower Bible and Tract Society and will highlight the Bible theme “Keep On Doing It More Fully.” (1 Thess. 1:1, 10) The event will attract dele gates from some 20 congrega tions in central South Carolina. Mr. Brooks estimated that up wards of 1,000 ministers will be in attendance for the semi-an nual gathering. The three-day event will cli max Sunday at 2 p.m. when Mr. D. J. Thomas, district mi nister of Jehovah’s Witnesses, delivers the main public address entitled “Can You Live For ever?—Will You?” Madrigalians to give concerts The Madrigalians, a 14-voice student singing group from New berry College, will present con certs in Gaffney, S. C., Char lotte, N. C., and Hickory, N. C., the weekend of Jan. 14. Under the direction of Karl Kinard, Jr., assistant professor of music at Newberry College, the chorale ensemble will sing at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 14, at the Cherokee Avenue Baptist Church, in Gaffney. The group will also sing at St. Andrew’s Lutheran Church in Hickory, during the 11 a.m. worship service Sunday, Jan. 16 The Madrigalians will con clude their brief concert tour with a program at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 16, in St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Charlotte. The vocalists will sing a va ried program of madrigals, folk and popular music, sacred compositions, and spirituals. This summer the group is planning a three-week tour in Europe; concerts are tentative ly planned for the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Austria, Swit zerland, and West and East Germany.
