Brown. Mrs. W. H. Horton of Mt, Carmel was a visitor here Tuesday. Mr. Jim Moragne of Bordeaux was a visitor here yesterday. Mrs. Elmer Creighton and little son, Billy, spent the past week in Greenville with Mrs. Klugh Con nor. Dr. and Mrs. W. G. Blackwell have returned home from a visit to their son, Mr. William Blackwell, of Macon, Ga. Master’ Fred Buzhardt, who un derwent an operation for appendi citis at the Greenwood Hospital last Thursday, is reported to be get ting along very nicely, and expects to return home today. Mr. W. H. Horton of Mt. Carmel was a visitor here yesterday. Messrs. J. L. Bracknell and R/1to. Winn of Plum Branch were visi tors here yesterday morning. Mrs. H. M. Schumpert, who un derwent a major operation at the Georgia Baptist Hospital in Atlanta on November 30th, is reported to be getting along very nicely. She left the hospital last Saturday and is spending about ten days in At lanta with her mother and expects to return home next Monday. . 39 Col. William C. Harllee and Mrs. Harllee of Dillon were visitors here Monday en route to Saluda where Colonel Harllee was guest speaker before the Saluda County Educa tion Association on Tuesday after noon. Frank Matti- son, Judge of Probate for McCor mick County, in the presence of a few close friends of the young couple. After a brief wedding trip Mr. and Mrs. Lawton will reside at Willington in the upper part of this county where he is engaged in farming. X — Auxiliary Meets With Mrs. C. H. Workman ' - The Auxiliary to the Thomas Jefferson Lyon, Jr., Post, No. 19, American Legion, held its Decem ber meeting at the home of Mrs. Claude H. Workman on Thursday afternoon with Mrs. Walter T. Arch Talbert Hostess To Rook Club On Friday evening Mrs. J. Arch Talbert was hostess to her rook club. The dining and living rooms were en suite and bowls of narcissi and autumn foliage formed an ef fective setting for the four tables of players. Prior to the game a tempt- t ing bufffet supper of baked ham, hot rolls, congealed salad, cheese straws, a sweet course and hot cof* fee was served. Mrs. Dacus P.
