DEATH OF J. B. SINGLETON The death angel visited our home t>n May 1, 1919, and took from us our loving brother. He suffered \vith heart trouble 11 months and 2 weeks. All that loving hands, kind physicians and kind friends could do ] could not stay the icy hands of , death. We mourn nob as those who have no hope. We have every evidence that with him all is well. He ate a light supper about six o'clock^Tahd started to take a bath about eight o'clock, and he took severe pressure in his chest and heart with which he died in about 15 minI utes. Calomel is quicksilver and acts like dynamite on your liver. Calomel loses you a day! Ycu know what calomel is. It's mercury; quictcsilvcr. Calomel is dangerous. It crashes into sour bile like dynamite, cramping and sickening you. Calomel attacks the bones and should never be put into your system. When you feel bilious, sluggish, constipated and all knocked out and believe you need a dose of dangerous calomel just remember that your druggist sells for a few cents a large bottle of Dodson's Liver Tone, which is entirely vegetable and pleasant to take and is a perfect substitute for calomel. It is guaranteed to start your liver without stirring you up inside, and can not salivate. Don't take calomel! It makes you sick the next day; it loses you a day's work. Dodson's Liver Tone straight, ens you right up and you feel groat. Give it to the children because it is perfectly harmless and doesn't gripe ?adv. Legal blanks of all kinds at the Herald office. COB RHINE REPUBLIC BACKED BY FOCH? % Mannheim.?When the project oi the Rhenish republic was first broached, Marshal Foch, commaiuler-in-chief of the Allied armies, was approached through occupation officers and asked whether the Rhinelanders could work for a republic without the risk of being disciplined by Germany, according to the Neuc Baden Landes Zeitung. The newspaper states that Marshal Foch an< Premier Clemenceau of France con lerred on the sufojct and sent a repl> to the Rhinelanders that "the Ger man government would never agair have anything to do with the left bank of the Rhine and hence the propagandists could not be punish ed." , It is further suggested thai France will help the new republie economically so as to lighten the fi nancial indemnity chargeable to the palatinate. At the cost of a small jar of ordinary cold cream one can prepare a ! full quarter pint of the most wonderful lemon skin softener and complexion beautifier, by squeezing the juice of two fresh lemons into a bottle containing three ounces of orchard white. Care should be taken to strain the juice through a fine cloth so no lemon pulp gets in, then this lotion will keep fresh for months. Every woman knows that lemon juice is used to bleach and remove such blemishes as freckles, sallowness and tan and is j the ideal skin softener, whitener and 1 beautifier. j Just try it flet three ounces of orchard white at any drug store and two lemons from the grocer and make up a quarter pint of this sweetly fragrant lemon lotion and massage q daily into the face, neck, arms and 1 hands.. Dropping a Hint. A temperance orator was in thu habit of holding forth in a workman's hall, and was constantly being internip ted. The next time he lectured in that hall he engaged a prize-fighter to sit ip. the gallery and keep order. He was contrasting the clean content of home life with the squalor of drunkeness. "What do we want when we return home from our daily toil?" he asked | "What do we desire to ease our burdens, to gladden our hearts, to bring smiles to our lips, and joy to our eyes?"
