It is thought by many that this is the intention and that the road will never be completed further than Cool Spring in this county, but we know nothing of the truth of these assertions. It is I.oped by everybody that the road will not j,'et into control of the Coast Line as this would blot out all hopes of opening up new sections of the county that are now sutVerino for transportation facilities. Wait, Esqr. lie was found guilty on both counts and lined in a total of $35.00 or 50days hard labor. Arthur Small was tried for whipping a negro trirl and was fined in the sum of live dollars. The </ii*l cursed on the streets and was fined in the sum of $3.00. Industries like this are bound to thrive in Horry county. All that is necessary is to establish them and push them. Success comes almost as matter of course. The Roris section of the county is one of the finest in the eountyand onoof the best places that could be found for the establish ment of a cannery. Loris was in corporated a few years ago and she is annually becoming of more and more importance as a business ecu tor. ralu's Court. ?Thocaso of the State against Ward was tried in the court house here last Tuesday by magistrate Daniel Grainger, both sides being represented by attorneys. It was claimed by the prosecution that the heiis at law of the late M. J. Ward had entered on land belonging to F. P. Bordeaux after notice from the owner prohibiting the same. The jury was composed of the following gentlemen: J. M. Richardson, S. P. Hawse, Ed Marsh, W. II. Chestnut, J. S. Battle and R. R. Nicholas. Tho arguments were commenced in the forenoon and eoneluded in the afternoon at Ho' clock. The jury after remaining out for some time failed to agree and a mistrial was ordered. Several people of the Warn pee section were in town to attend the trial. After the trial the warrant was withdrawn, The Picnic on Pee Dec. The people in tho Pee Dee section, in the vicinity of Cedar Grove, had a picnic at the cross roads last Friday, attended by a large crowd of people who enjoyed themselves. Early on the morning of tho 4th of July in the little town of Cades there was a wedding. Just as the sun began to make his apecarance over the eastern horizon, two happy young people met at a minister's house in that quiet little town. They were Mr. M. P. Davis and Miss Maggie Epps. The good minister soon knew their mission and while many pooplo in tho peaceful little village were still slumbering, he read the pretty vows, which made them man and wife. 11 was one of those romantic runaway matches and took their many friends by surprise, a pleasant sur prise. Mr. and Mrs. Davis boarded the morning train, passing through Florence and spending the day in Darlington. From there they went to Conway where they will make their home. Mr. and Mrs. Davis weie in the city last night going back to Cades to spend a few days with the bride's parents before starling out on life's journey. Mrs. Davis was a popular young girl of Cades and her many friends wish her much happiness She is still in her teens and it was because of her youlhfulness that the wedding had to bo a runaway one, Mr. Davis is an "enterprising young man and has many friends.? ?
