We can testify from experience 11 that the tobacco industry is a great thing for both the rural district and the town. Our tobacco trade here has increased our population to some extent , has helped to raise " the taxable value of town property, v and above all has lent a stimulus to a trade in one of t tie dullest seasons of |, the year. It would take pages to o enumerate the many advantages it has brought to both town and conn- ^ ty. U There is no reason why a tobacco w warehouse should not succeed at 5l! li Loris. Wmey Subscribed for the building: of a Tobacco Ware * house. Thi' tobacco interest gathering in Ijoris on last Saturday* was quite a success. It is stated that $1,500.75 was subscribed towards building a warehouse and ?that considerably more has neen promised. The success which has been achieved this year in growing it and in curing it, t igether with tiie encouraging prices which it brings in the market is a very reasonable guarantee oi a great increase in the acreage next year. t he weather continues dry here.
