Orancebanf Thursday when the people of that proereaslve county decided to balld'a packing house. It had been advertised that there weald be a meeting and that State Agent W. W. Long would be ther* to discuss* the matter of providing a packing bouse in th4 low country. To meet him were ft least 200 representative farmers and business men. and they had determi nation written on their faces. They intended to secure permission from Dr. Long to go ahead with their plans and to erect a packing house ter care for the surplus livestock in the low country, especially in Orangebure and adloining counties. We can do these th|ng£ too if we try. and CO-OPERATE. We \Vill not now need a packing house.tor at least for several years, hut we do need to get fid of the cattle' tick to begin with, and to raise better live stock and more Of It. This will fe- quire 'also CO-OPERATION, but If we are wise we shall CO-OPERATE and bring this to pass at the earliest possible time.. Why do we netd this? To begin with wo were informed by .Dr.' Long that a creamfly route could not be established tiltHhe cattle tick were destroyed^nd we could have shipped into our country good cattle from tick free areas.
