The -spring term of the Court of Common Fleas for Colleton Coutftv adjourned. Saaturday after a week’* hard work, in which many cases aere disposed of. The feature of the close was the adoption by the mem bers of the Bar of resolutions in conunendatiou for the efficient ser vices rendered here by Special Judge H-E. MtGowah. of Laurens. These resolution were offered by Col. Jaa. O. Padgett and were seconded in earnest speeches by M. P. Powell. Esq., and Col. D. B. Peurlfoy. Col. Padgett in offering, the resolution made the prediction and expressed the hope that Judge McGowan would ?°nie day be elevated to thd Circuit Bench, and stated that he would honor the Bench by his fair and Inu partial manner and large legal learn ing. J^udge McGowan has made an excellent impression here and his work has been of a very.high char acter. Judge McGowan replied in a fitting speyt h, in which he expressed praise for the ability and honesty of the Walterboro Bar, thanking all of them and the officers of the Court for ser vices read' red him and courtesies shown.
