The hews of Mr. Pechman’s friend! here, very few of whom knew that he was ill. He was stricken with pneumonia several days ago and, in spite of the skill of physicians and the tender nursing of loving hands grew steadily^worse. i Mr. Pechman was A nephew of the late Mr. Charles Pechman of, this city and also of the late sheriff Hood, of Fairfield County, who was killed on the Court House steps in Winns- boro several years ago in defense of a prisoner. . He was 52 years of age » v, • . .. and spent the greater part of his life in-Barnwell. He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. T.
