Mr. and Mrs. Norman Case and Mrs. Doris Farmer motor ed to Towanda, Penn, last Tues day to visit Mrs. Elizabeth Russell, Mr. and Mrs. John Cook, and other relatives.They returned on Sunday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. Buford Lowery and Karen attended the Lowery Reunion in Rock Hill recently. Eddie Kellian is a student at the University of S. C. Mrs. Willie O’Dell and Mrs. Perry Swygert attended the Homecoming at the New Hope Methodist Church at Pomaria on Sunday. JOANNA WOMANS CLUB Tonight, October 1st the Wo mans Club will hold their re gular monthly meeting at the Joanna Clubhouse, at 7:30 o’ clock. Mr. and Mrs. Luther Parker and Miss Freda Height ofSpar- tanburg visited Mr. and Mrs. R. W. Ship on Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Niver and Tim of Greenville were Friday overnight guests of Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Niver. Visit ing them on Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. James Smith and Mr. and Mrs. Tommy DeYoung, Billy and Bryan of Greenville. Neil Putnam is a student at the University of S. C. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Holson- back visited relatives in New berry on Sunday. Mrs. Cancie Brown accompanied them. Eric Chalk was in the Bailey Memorial Hospital last week end. Mr. and Mrs.HermanShealy, Sr. spent last week-end with A/1C and Mrs. Edwin Shealy and their infant son, Todd,at Shaw Air Force Base, and Mr. and Mrs. Herman Shealy, Jr. at Columbia. Mrs. Harriet Nabors and her little grandson, Mike Nabors of Clinton were Friday overnight guests of her mother, Mrs. Julia Able in Saluda. BIRTHDAYS ANNIVERSARIES Last Thursday, September 24 birthday celebrants were Louie Nabors, David Honeycutt, Earl Puckett, Mike Long and Dana Nabors. The 25th brought a birthday to Runette Banks and Rickie Alexander. Charles Robert Niver, Linda Roe and Betty Thomas, cele brated a birthday on the 26th. On the 27th Brent Holson- back, Eddie Shealy and Barbara Welchel observed a birthday and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Longshore a wedding anniversary. Mr. and Mrs. Otis Lewis had a wedding anniversary on the 28th. Tommy Brewington, Algie Abrams, Jr., Jill Thomas, James Osborne and Kelly Rene Mills enjoyed a birthday on September 29. Yesterday, September 30 birthday celebrants were Wini fred Davenport, Elaine Norris, Virgil (Buck) Morgan, Joyce Cotney, Ola Mae Osborne and Burley Humphrey. Parr, 1230 McMor- ris Street in Newberry, has been named Assistant Plant Manager of Joanna Plants Nos. 13, 14, and 16 of Greenwood Mills. Parr had previously worked as carding and spinning de partment Superintendent of Jo anna Plant No. 14, and prior to that had been first shift carding department Supervisor in Joanna No. 14. . He is a graduate of Ersldne Cellege, and also has complet ed an ICS textile manufacturing course. Parr is married to the for mer Margaret Ervin, and they have two children, Ravenel and David, Jr. The family attends Newberry Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church. South, Bishop Are Eloctod Daniel L. South of Clinton and William M. Bishop of Mountville were elected to stu dent offices recently at Pied mont TEC in Greenwood.
