Hollingsworth enter tained his family and friends at his annual barbecue on the lake last Wednesday afternoon. Mrs. Hayne Workman Jr. re turned from Honolulu, Hawaii on Saturday and was met in Atlanta by Mrs. R. B. Segars, Lindy and Miss Will Jones. Mrs. Cal Moore, Miss Connie Moore, and Miss Frances Hill spent last week with relatives in Edgefield. Leon Moore is on a con struction job on Aguila Island near Puerto Rica. Mrs. R. W. Griffin has re turned 'from a visit to Mr. and Mrs. W. G. Lovett and family in Atlanta. LL and Mrs. William Martin Boyce are spending sometime here before Lt. Boyce leaves for Vietnam. Billy Brown has returned home from Self Memorial HospitaL Baptismal services were held at the First Baptist Church and Bethabara BaptistChurch on Sun day. Mr. and Mrs. R. B. Dr. Sidney Crouch, retired Presbyterian minister of Clem- soQ who passed away recently married the former Katy Austin of Cross Hill. She has a num ber of relatives here. Operation Mainstream, a De partment of Labor manpow er program, provides work ex perience and training for chroni cally unemployed older workers. These people plant trees, beau tify roads, Improve drainage, protect wildlife, and rehabilitate bousing. These projects help im prove small and rural low- income communities while pro viding jobs for their inhabitants.
