M ♦ ★ * ** **★★■** COMING FOR CHRISTMAS "The Impossible Years' (Selected Bv Radio City Music Hall For Its Christmas Attraction) Coroner's Jury Says Girl's Death Accidental A Laurens County coroner's jury decided Thursday night that Betty Patterson, 17-year-old girl from Rt. 1., Clinton, “carrm to her death by mischance and acci dent" in a Nov. 26 wreck on S.C. highway 72. She was a passenger in an auto mobile that collided with a truck loaded with pulpwood about four miles south of Clinton. Driver of the car was identi fied as Wanda Attaway, 16, of Rt. 1, Clinton. State highway Patrolman Le- Roy Sorrow testified that accord ing to his investigation when Miss Attaway applied brakes after a car in front of her slowed, the right rear wheel on her car locked, pulling it to one side. The car spun around in the road and was hit by the truck, he added. Similar testimony was given by Miss Attaway, who said the four girls in the car were >-n their way home from school.
