Thompson, who has been superintendent- of Laurens Countv School District 55 since .1958, will not seek reelection for another term. Thompson’s term expires at the end of the current school vear. The driver, John Edwin Philips,, 20, of Rt. 6, Gaffney, was charged with driving too fast for conditions. Haskell A. Ledbetter of Gaffney, was a passenger in the truck.
