Mrs. Brown resides with the Hinsons. Mr. and Mrs. Royce Smith of near Laurens, Mr. and Mrs. . Gary Brissie and children of Greenwood, visited Miss Fero- line Seay on Monday of last week. On last Thursday Miss t« Seay with Melvin Seay and chil dren visited the Smiths. Mr. and Mrs. Bobby Webb * were recent guests of Mrs. Webb's grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Sam Maples, in Sharon, and also Mr. and Mrs. Noah Vance in Lockhart. Mrs. Brace Bagwell visited bar parents, Mr. and Mrs. Brad shaw White, in Laurens over the week-end. Mr. Whie is ill at Ms Mr. and Mr*. Glenn Gaskins are vacationing this week in New Orleans, La., and other points of interest enroute. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Walien- zine and children of Beach Is land, visited her parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Mitchell and also Ms parents, Mr. and Mrs. Claude WaUenxine, in Clinton over the week-end. Mrs. Jack Callahan, Mr. and Mrs. B. F. Vanderford of Un ion, were Saturday guests of Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Vanderford. Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Staggs of Belton, are here with the Glenn Gaskins* children while they are on vacation. Mr. and Mrs. HaroldJiairstoo, Steve and Wayne Hairston and Mrs. Corrie Duvall were in Charleston Tuesday of last week for the funeral services of the letter’s nephew, Luther Carson. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Piercy and family of Forest City, N. C., and Mrs. Nina Kinsley of Colum bia, were recent visitors of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Claude M. McElhannon. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Cody of Spartanburg, visited her mother, Mrs. R. G. Johnson, and brother, Bobby, and Mrs. Johnson. Mr. and Mrs. Keith McGee and f a m il y visited Saturday in Woodruff with Mrs. McGee’s mother, Mrs. Bob Yarborough. Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Motte, Larry Motte and Mrs. Denford Wyatt and children were Sunday supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. Mask Reeder in Joanna. The oc casion was a farewell to Larry who leaves Friday for Fort Jack- son for a six months tour of duty with the U. S. Army. "Happy Birthday” to Floyd Poole today. Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy James will observe their wedding anni versary October 15. "Butch” Grady will celebrate his birthday October 15. Kenneth Moore’s birthday will be October 5. BIRTH ANNOUNCEMENT Mrs. Tucker is the former Miss Florence R6vis. WITH THE SICK Patti Smith is suffering a broken arm injury. Mrs. R. E. Whitmire was a pa tient in Bailey Memorial Hos pital a few days last week. Mrs. Bradshaw Bagwell was a hospital patient last week. Teresa Cooper is ill. Mrs.- Jim Dean has been ill several days. Claude M. McElhannon is ill at his home. S. J. Todd, a patient at Bailey Memorial Hospital for several weeks, is improving. CHURCH OF GD HOMECOMING SUNDAY The annual homecoming of the Lydia Church of God will be held Sunday at the church. All members, friends and for mer members are invited. Dinner will be served on the grounds at 12:45 p. m. Everyone is to bring a well filled basket. Special music by Bob Patton’s "The Happy Four” will be ren dered at the morning service. A song service will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 p. m. with all singers invited. REVIVAL BEGINS SUNDAY EVENING Revival services will begin Sunday evening at 7:00 at the Lydia Church of God, with the Rev. Frank Smith of Laurens, bringing the messages. Rev. W. H. Cabiness is pastor of the host church. The public is cordially invited to the services. BAPTIST CIRCLES TO MEET The Omathine Dabbs circle of the Woman’s Missionary So ciety will meet Tuesday evening at 7:30. The Wathleen Walker circle will meet Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. with Mrs. Paul McCauley. ASSOCIATION YOUNG PEOPLE TO MEET The Laurens Assodational young peoples meeting will be held at the Lydia Baptist Church Thursday (tonight) at 7:30 p. m.
