WE READ THE OTHf-R DAY ABOUT A PHONE
CALL THAT MADE LEGAL HISTORY. It happened
out West during a court trial. It seems a very important
witness was out of town. He was stranded by a storm
and his testimony was needed before they could go
with the trial. The judge agreed to let him testify by
telephone! He was sworn in and the lawyers and jndge
questioned hun, each of them on his own —p—ntr tele
phone. On another phone, a court reporter took down
his testimony. This sounds to us like another way of
proving that a telephone call is this next beat thmg to
being there! °
