Whitmire and Mrs. 8. P. Bowers of Clinton. Mrs. L. L. Simpson and Mar garet White are visiting their son and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Simpson, in Atlanta, Ga., for two weeks. Sue O’Dell and Algie Ab rams, Jr., spent last week at Columbia College, Columbia, attending the Senior Assembly of the Methodist Church. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Phil lips spent several days last week in Hardensburg, Ky., with Mr. and Mrs. G. V. Adair. Mr. and Mrs. P. L. Swygert and Don visited James Ruff at the Columbia hospital, Colum bia, Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Carl Phillips and sons of Charlotte, N. C., are vistiing his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Phillips for a few days. Mrs. Mattie Wardell and son of Laurens, were Sunday visi tors of Mr. and Mrs. T. G. Murphy. Friends will be interested to know Mr. and Mrs. Hubert Da vis and daughter have moved to Covington, Ga. Mr. and Mrs. Lee Bridges and Judy of Ninety-Six, were Sunday visitors of Mrs. Willie O’Dell. Mrs. Johnnie Moore and Dickie spent several days last week in Rembert with Dr. and Mrs. T. M. Moore. Johnnie Moore, Sr., joined them for the week-end and return trip home. Mountville News MRS. Alan Petty will celebrate a' birthday August 22. Kenneth Bragg of Aiken, will be 2 years old August 26. TO GIVE DINNER The Joanna Church of God will have a chicken dinner Sat urday, August 24, at the Jo anna club house. Prices will be $1.25 for a half chicken, and 75c for a fourth, with French fries, cole slaw, cake and bread. Sun day school opening assembly programs will follow the back- to-school theme and the evening service will be given by stu dents, followed by a covered dish supper for all junior high, high school and college stu dents in the recreation room. Crisp of Elber- ton, Ga., visited Mr. and Mrs. Roy Adams, Miss Zelle Crisp and Mr. and Mrs. Carl Crisp on Sun day. Friends of Jane Young will be happy to learn that she is at home after a stay of several days in Bailey Memorial Hospital. Quinton Chapman of Charles ton spent last weekend with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Chapman. Mrs. BUI Woods of Greenville spent last weekend with her aunt, Dr. Ruth Stokes. They were joined on Sunday for lunch by Mr. Woods. Zana Crisp, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Crisp, recently underwent surgery at Self Memo rial Hospital. She is now at home and recuperating nicely. Mr. and Mrs. Mark Pitts and sons of Aiken, and Mr. and Mrs. Hugh McCarter and family spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Miller. Visiting Mrs. Rhett Bryson on Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. S. N. Crisp of Laurens, Mr. and Mrs. Bobo Franklin and Mrs. W. L. Meyer, Sr., of Union and Mrs. John Fuller of Clinton. Mrs. S. J. Hunt is a patient at Bailey Memorial Hospital.
