On September 8 farmers met at designated places within the county and elected community committee men to serve for the year beginning October 1 In Laurens County a township is regarded as a commun ity. There are nine townships in the county; therefore, there are nine communities in the county in which these community elections were held These elections are held by farmers and only farmers may vote in these elections The person elect ed chairman of a community com mittee is automatically the del egate to the county convention. It is these elected delegates who elect the County Committee to serve them and to serve other farmers in the county. Clinton High Plays In North Augusta Tomorrow Night Coach Buzz Tedards will take his Clinton High School Red Devils to North Augusta Friday night for the fifth game of the current season. The Devils have won two games, i lost one. and tied one so far this 1 year The North Augusta team is coach ed by Cally Gault, who is well known in Clinton, and the game will | bring together two Presbyterian College alumni-coached teams, both) Tedards and Gault being graduates of the college. The de feat was Clinton's first against two wins Clinton drew first blood early in the first quarter when Kinard Lit tleton made an end sweep for 45 yards Littleton helped his own cause when he ran the PAT The Cyclones struck back when Clyde Wren ran a reverse over from the 10 The drive started from the Chester 35 Clinton's Red Devils, not to be outdone, scored from 34 yards out in the second period when Ricky Rhame ran through the middle of the line. Chester scored another TD when Wren bulled his way through the Clinton secondary and legged it 16 yards to pay dirt The Cyclones kicked the extra point which proved to be the winning tally.
