The school will offer Sjpeedwrit- ing, typing, bookkeeping, payroll record keeping as major subjects and business English and spelling, filing, clerical pracitce and pro cedure as minor subjects. The Perry Schools, ■with head quarters in Brunswick, Ga., have a long established record of suc cessfully training hundreds of sec retaries, stenographers and book keepers as well as typists, payroll record clerks and general office workers. They operate permanent schools in Brunswick, Columbus, Albany, Gainesville, LaGrange, Ga., and in Tuscaloosa, Ala., and Martinsville, Va. Prior to 1944 the Perry Schools maintained an extension school program, but did not resume this phase of their operations until 1951) when Speedwriting Short hand became available and the need for pressionaliy trained office Workers grew acute, Mrs. A. O. Lester, registrar, for the Perry Schools, is now making plaus-for ike-scroo! which is limit ed to 23 students and can be con tacted at the Laurens Hotel in Laurens or the Laurens Chamber peaches in the South will be off. It said Americans are likely to eat more chicken, eggs and dairy products than a year earlier, with output of these products high and prices lower. Supplies of meat will be some what below the high level of last spring because of a cutback in the pig crop last fall, the department i said in a report on the nati nal} food situation But marketings of hogs are expected to be heavier later in the year, reflecting a larger pig crop this spring, the report said. Planting surveys were said to indicate that spring vegetable and melon production this year will be above last year, but that the show she is producing at Joanna. A master of ceremon ies keeps things moving at a rapid pace as he introduces a variety of acts. Thirty teen agers will be selected to appear as chorus girls and five outstand-1 ing local specialty acts will be! spotlighted in the show. "You Can t Beat Fun” has the unqualified recommendation of many other towns in the nation where it has played to packed houses.
