RECIPE OF THE WEEK Whipped Cream Waffles (Makes 8) 1 1-3 cups sifted flour 4 fi-foblegpoons sugar 2 teaspoons baking powder 1-2 teaspoon salt 4 eggs, separated 2 cups heavy cream, whipped 3 tablespoons butter, melted Sift dry ingredients. Combine well- beaten egg yolks, cream and butter; add to flour mixtiire. Fold in stiffly beaten whiles. Bake in a hot waffle iron. McMillan Passes At Laurens, Rites Set For Today Laurens—Lee Stanford McMillan, 50, prominent Laurens merchant, died at his home on West Main street early Wednesday following three years of declining health. He was born in Greenwood, Miss., a son of Mrs. Margaret Stanford Mc Millan and the late Joseph Louis McMillan. Mr. McMillan was a graduate of the University of Alabama, and was a member of Pi Kappa Alpha, social fraternity, and Qmicrom Delta Kap pa. honorary fraternity. Mr. McMillan came to Laurens in 1929, where he has owned and oper ated the Laurens Distributing Com pany since. He was mayor of the city from 1938 until 1940. He is a past president of the South Carolina Fox Hunters As sociation and the Laurens Rotary club. At the time of his death, he was an elder in the First Prslbyterian church and a director of the Chamber of Commerce. Surviving in addition to his mo ther are his wife, Mrs. Flora Bennett McMillan; one daughter, Mrs. Ed Sadler of Clinton; two brothers, John T. McMillan of Greenwood, Miss., and Marion L. McMillan of Laurens; two sisters, Mrs. Louise Johnson and Mrs. Stanford Wall, both of Green wood, Miss. t , Guard Status Information Office Asked congress that South Carolina units cannot learn from any military of ficial their future status.
