If you buy eggs in the bulk or ev
en in cartons, always mark the old I
ones with an “O” before placing the!
new ones alongside them. You’ll
know which to use first, and so will!
everyone else, without having to ask \
you.
AliIk bottle caps should also be
.■marked with ;m “O” so anyone m
the 4arrfiTy can 'distinguish them from
the new when getting a glass of milk
to drink.
After serving a large mold^of jel
lied ? alad, gather together what's left
and re-mold in a smaller mold so it
can be attractive when the leftovers
arc used.
S.mmer chicken for 10 minutes be
fore deep-fat frying to cook it slight
ly Drain from stock, then dip in
flour and fry in hot fat for about
15 minutes.
When plastic table covers get too |
scratched or torn to be used for tab-1
les. they can be cut down to make
good aiprons, or sheets for wrapping
refrigerated foods.
Try putting shredded raw potato
on top of your macaroni and cheese
casserole for a tempting, crispy top
ping. It'll cook in about 30 minutes
in a moderate oven.
Cut paper milk cartons lengthwise
and use them for strong fish, meat or
other produce in the refrigerator.
They can be washed, drained and re
used.
