Jordan gave a dessert bridge on Thursday afternoon Jit her home in the King apartments, guests being members of her card club. Two tables were daintily appoint ed for refreshments and’before the games a sweet course was enjoyed. At the conclusion of the progressions Mrs. Michael Turner was high scor er. winners of the high and second score awards. Guests who enjoyed the af ternoon with the club members were the hostess’s mother, Mrs. J. H. Mapp of Buena Vista, Va., and Mrs. W. C. Stevenson of Pittsburg, Pa. Later in the afternoon the hostess served assorted fancy sandwiches, j and date roll, with coffee and other 'party dainties. Demonstration Club Meets With Mrs. Workman The Wadsrworth Home Demonstra tion club held its monthly meeting Thursday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Ben Workman, with Mrs. Charles Workman as joint-hostess. Mrs. D. L. Monroe presided over the meeting and gave the devotional. Mrs. Hayne Workman read the min- jutes and called the roll. The song “Beautiful Dreamer” was sung by the members. A very helpful demonstra tion on sprinkling and ironing a shirt properly was given by the agents, Mrs. Lukstat Is Bridge Hostess Mrs. Henry M. Adorning the center of the tea ta- ible was a decorative “Gingerbread House” fashioned after the fairy story “Hansel and Gretel”. The re freshments of assorted sandwiches, cakes, and Russian Tea with other danties carried out the Valentine motif. In the living room pink gladioli were beautifully blended with pink and deep purple snapdragons while yellow snapdragons were used in the den Good-byes were said on the sun porch by Mrs. Hubert Boyd and Mrs. Carlisle Neely. Banquet Enjoyed By Eastern Star Chapter Prior to the annual inspection of chapter No. 9, Order of the Eastern Star, which was held Friday night, a banquet was held at the Community House for members and out of town guests. Tables were centered with flower arrangements carrying out the East ern Star colors of blue, yellow, red, green and white. The place cards al so carried the organization’s colors Dinner was served by the Woman’s club. During the banquet a musical program was presented under the di rection of Mrs. Eva Land, who was also the outstanding guest of honor from the Buffalo chapter. Following the supper the regular 1 monthly meeting and annual inspec- , tion was held In the Masonic Temple.' The club rooms were lovely with ar rangements of crysanthemuma, snap dragons. Dutch iris.
