SecrLtary Wilson, while making a I ir.v personal call on the president yesterday. reiterated his previous statement that the year's cotton crop would approximate twelve million bales. He explained that there was an excellent reason for the large crop this year. the reason furnished by nature. Last year the crop was short because of ser ious drought, which extended in a greater or less degree throughout the cotton belt. This year, he said, had been extremely favorable to the growth and maturing of a large crop. A dispatch from Newport, Ark., states that Louis Allwhite, the alleg ed criminal assailant and murderer of Mrs. Rachel Kinnannon and her daughter, was lynched on Saturday at the scene of his crime by a mob of 700 men. The 19-year-old son of Allwhite, the self-confessed acces sory to the crime, was left unmo lested in the jail building.
