The Phoenix is in receipt of a lot of wedding, envelopes, paper, eto., of the latest Paris and New Xork styles, whioh will be printed at reasonable rates. Old type?superior to Babbit metal for many purposes and muoh cheaper? san be obtained in any quantity at the Phcknix Office. The Phoenix job office is complete in ejery respect, and oards, posters, pro? grammes, bill-heads, etc., are turned out with alacrity. Persons indebted to the. Phcknix office are earnestly requested to oall and settle at once. There is a large amount due? tha greater portion in small sums. The indebtedness muat be liquidated, or we ?hall be forced to resort to extreme mea Buioe. Transfer printing inks are invaluable t2 railroad companies, bsnks, mer? chants, manufacturers and others. They are enduring and ohangeless, aud will copy sharp and dear for an indefinite period of time. Having just received a fresh supply of inks, we are prepared to execute orders at moderate prices. South Carolina Monument Associa? tion.?The monument proposed to be erected by the women of South Caro? lina, in memory of their gallant dead in the late Oonfederate war, has been de? layed in its completion by want of the necessary funds. The cost of the monu? ment will be $10,000; the first install? ment of $5,000 has been already paid to the distinguished architects, Muldoon & Uo., of Kentucky, who are proceeding with the monument, which, wheu finished, Will bo a noble and beautiful tribute to our deceased soldiers. It is requisite that $5,000 shall bo raised by October next, to completo this sum of $10,000. This can be easily obtained, if each District will pledge itself to give $200, and if every individual who re? ceives one of these circulars will send tho small sum of $1. Lot a trensurer and collectors be appointed iu every vil? lage and oity, and let tho monpy collect? ed by these local treasurers be promptly forwarded to the General Treasurer, Mrs. W. K. Bachmau, at Columbia. If the ladies in these Districts will give the matter their earnest attention, we are convinced that.they will soon seouro the amount required. Surely none will re *faso to aid in perpetuatjpg tho memory Of those who counted not their lives dear that they might save tho land they loved so well; and though the cause they died for bo lost, all is not lost, so long as their grand epitaph, "They died for their principles," whether engrnvon on marble or on the tablets of our hearts, shall contain for us nnd for future gene? rations inspiration and hope.
