The fluid broke plastering, melted the bell-wires and created confusion generally, but without Injuring any of the Inmates. Some, however, narrowly escaped. She struck bim two blows, on the back of the head and on the left shoulderblade, inflicting deep and ngly gashes. Owing to the small-pox being in the house where the sufferer was living, he could not be taken into the City Hospital, and at a late hour was still on the cart In the street.
