The appearance of the English market is decidedly better, and under its effect New York has taken a firmer attitude. At the former prices opened at ll?id and improved to ll&d, and the latter advanced rrom 25??c to 25KC for middling uplands, while at this port the article stiffened from 24,l4' to 24&c for middlings, with but a limited supply offering.
