SALE OF STEAMERS.-The steamers Fannie and Marlon, the property of the late Captain John Ferguson, were sold at public outcry yesterday by Messrs. Leitch A Uruns. The Fannie sold for $3G50, and the Marion for $6250. The Marion has been purchased by Mr. H. W. Tilton, and Captain Adair will continue to run the boat in the Santee ?rade. Thc Fannie will probably bc retained for employment in this vicinity. PRIVATE IMPROVEMENTS.- The Tucker House, "better known perhaps as thc Hampstead Hospi tol, was recently purchased by Mr. Henry Bischoff, ?and tue buiMing and extensive grounds Otted up by him as a private dwelling. If a body tell a body, Need a body cry PANORAMA OT NEW YORK.-To-day, at three o'clock, at the Hibernian Hall, the panorama of New York City gives Its first exhibition, and ex? hibits every afternoon and night to Wednesday nlght next, inclusive, at s and s o'clock. The Macon (Qa.) Telegraph says : '. " Ralston Hall was well tilled yesterday afternoon by the pupils and teachers of the various schools of the city, to witness Billiard's great panorama of New York, and at night the hall was again crowded by all classes of citizens. As a specimen of art it ls, perhaps, unsurpassed by anything of the kind lu the United States. Everything the artist touched with his pencil is presented in a most striking and lifelike manner. And, then, the Interesting, instructive, and at times highly amusing lecture, which accompanies the passing panorama, almost makes the spectator believe that he ls riding along Broadway in a phrcton, with some intelligent and well-posted friend, who is pointing ont and calling hts attention to all ob? jects on either side worth a passing notice. Williams, Drake. Kilts and Rouse, who, railing to come forward and qualify, arc declared ineligible; and, the order goes on to say, they have admitted their ineligibility by tiling with Bullock applications to Congress for thc removal I Of their disabilities. ? The application or this axle will go rar to promote the advantage of shipment in bulk over roads or dif? ferent gauge, and commends itseir to railroad men. A BLOODY AFKRAY. The Dahlonega Signal says that a bloody affray took place on Wednesday, of last week, on thc Black Mountain Road, about three or four miles north ot that place, between Scion Cochran and J. K. nnd-Bcar John Woody, in which Bear John Woody was instantly killed, and J. K. was very severely, though perhaps not fatally, cut In thc side by Cochran. The cause of thu difficulty was purely of a family matter, and can be in uo way construed as arising from politics, as all thc par? ties concerned were Republicans. TAINMENT.-The performance at the Academy of Music to-morrow afternoon is a remarkable one in itseir. but, by way or piling Pelion on Ossa, Manager Ford gives notice that "thc entire re? ceipts (xcithout any deduction for expenses) from children, will be given to the Widows' Home.'' Of this noble charity, we need not say a word of praise. It is the one which touches most acutely the sympathies of our people. And it will be a pleas? ant thing for all the "little ones" to know that each one of them who goes to the Academy to-mor? row afternoon, will be putting the price of admis? sion directly into the coffers of the Home of which they have heard so much. This will give jest to the amusement, and a heartier ring to their merry laugh. TnE ACADEMY OF MUSIC-The unfavorable weather of last evening prevented a large atten? dance at the Academy of Music, but those who braved the elements were fully compensated, for a greater carnival of fun has seldom been witnessed. The acting was broadly runny, and the Audience took the witticisms, and enjoyed the humor of thc play Hilly. The opening piece, Buck stone's comedy of "Married Lire," was capitally rendered, and the denouement was a convincing proof that "mantrimony ls a dangerous thing." Bishop was as usual sublimely funny,but the hon? ors were eqqally sustained by Blanche Chapman and Mr. Kennedy. Ixion ls an acknowledged favorite on the boards, and ls one of thc specialties or the present troupe. It was Impossble to restrain laughter at the broad comicalities of "Minerva" (Bishop;) but Mercury (Ella Chapman) was the bright particular star who took the house by storm and captivated thc hearts of her hear? ers. She was encored three times on the opening song, and the "Tassels on the Boots" was given In such a manner that even th? elder and sedate business .nen lu the audience threw aside their dignity for the nonce and joined heartily in the applause. "Ixion" is one or thc broadest and most mirth-provoking ol all burlesques, in which no opportunity is lost to present those points of local significance that eau never rail to provoke the rlslDles irresistibly.
