In the Summer that draweth nigh. Blow, lillies, stately and toll. Robed In your .-ilvor sheen; Sing, glad father birds, over the nests, Up in the tree tops green. Sing, birds; blow, flowers; Ring out your anthems swoet; Little leaves, clap your innocent hands; Summer ls thrilling through all the lands. With the touch of her golden feet Flame out, wallflowers, in fiery brown; Ope, early ieee buds of June; Brood, mother bird-, in silent Joy, Waiting is over soon. Sing, birds; blow, flowers; Faint stirrings of life begun Will come below In the thrilling nest. Under the mother bird's love-warm breast. And the crown of her life be won. Brighten, O flowers, with the brightening days, Down in the garden fair; Peal out, O birds, your passionate notes On the quivering Summer air.
