Sam Wilson was happily married to Miss Lee Gillespie, of Anderson county, on the 4th it. The ceremony wa performed by Mr. M. T. Smith. Sam and his bride have our moat hearty congratulations. We are glad to know that the report that Mr. Gignialliat lhad resigned as agent of thme depot at Easley is a mistake. He has been in that position now more that ten years, and has made himself most acceptable both to the people and the railroad. 3. C. Alexander and William Alexan der, of Huricane township, were sent before Justice Robinson last week, on a wiarrant issued by .lustice J. L. Graveley, at the instance of John E. He has been unable to take his custom ary exercise for about a week, but he is thought to be improving. The residence of Capt. J. W. 3run son with all his furniture, was destroyed by fire on Tuesday morning at 3 a. m. The tire was accidental. Mr. B. was away from home. The roof was falling in when the fire was discovered. The Pendleton Farmer's Society has arranged for its annual fasr in October. Messrs. Trescot, Bowen and Sitton have been appointed on the committee of ar rangements, and will have every thing in apple pie order. The show will con tinue for two dayd. Our tlank' are due to Revs. E. E. It did the work." Mrs. Eva Wyatt Poore, the b)eloved wife of Mr. E. H. Poore, of IBolton Township, died suddenly last Monday morning. She had been ill for several days, though her condition was not considlered1 dangerous. On Mondaliy morning the family physician called to see her and found her improving rap idly. While he wvas in the room talking to members of the family, seome one no ticed that Mrs. Poore was gasping for breath, and in a twinkling ehie passed from time to eternity. Sihe was troub) with heart disease, which is suIIposed to have caused her dheath. Mrs. Poore was about thirty years of aige. About ai year ago she was united in marriage to Mr. Peere. The top crop of cot ton has been shortened by the rust, but some of the faithfuls are still claiming a crop much in advance of last year. One Thomas C. Bean recently died intestate, near Bonham, Texas, leav ing an estate worth $1,000,000. If he has any heirs they are as yet un known. Many of high social stand ing are filing their claims of kinship and heirship. but nooe have yet shown that they are entitled to the beans. In this day of railroads and cheap transportation, people ought to visit their kin, and watch the growth of the family scions from the family tree.
