After remaining in the room for nearly 36 hours, the jury who heard the case of the State against W. 0. Tatum, L. W. Boykin and John Bell Towill, former dispensary officials charged with conspiracy to defraud the State out of several thousand dollars in ihe purchase of a big lot of labels'during 1905, failed to reach a Terdict and a mistrial was ordered. This means that another long and tedious trial will be he,d. It 19 said that the jar/stood nine for acquittal and three for conviction. The case was heard in Richland county and distinguished counsel appeared on both sides. The defendants are still under heavy bonds, the same charges being against them. , Death and Destruction [ in Pennsylvania Flood.
