Mr. Emerson is not a "Yankee" though he now lives in the North, but a "Southerner" to the ore, a North Carolinian by birth and instinct. Mr. Emerson is here now with a force of workmen, who have commenced the work of clearing away the debris and preparing for the rehabilitation of Irospect Hill. The two plantations embrace an area of some 4,500 acres. A generous proportion of this large tract is forest land and this will be converted into a splendid game preserve. The cleared lands will be cultivated and these also will be fine hunting lands in the fall for pheasants and quail and other game birds, with which the property will be stocked. The rice fields will be reclaimed and planted in rice. Deafness Can&ot be Cured. by local applications, as they cannot reach ? the diseased portion ot the ear.
