The Southern railway changed its schedule last Sunday. The train, No. 133, that has been reaching Lexington at 6:20 in the afternoon, is due to ^ arrive now at about 1:30; the train from Columbia that hgts been arriving, or due to arrive, at 12:30, is supposed to arrive now at 2 o'clock. The other trains have not been changed. The Charles King Theatrical Com pany, who five weeks ago, so com^ ' pletely delighted our people in "Rip Van Winkle," will present their most famous play, the "Southern Romance," in Roofs Hall on Monday evening, Jan. 14th. The company is clean, and ^Managers Leaphart & Roof are to be congratulated upon getting this popular company to return. Dispensary Profits. The Board of Control was in session Monday. The net profits for the year, in this coant^, ending Dec. 31, 1906, are as follows: Lexington, ?2,8S3.29; Lewiedale, $983.88; Peak, ?1,314.73, making a total for the county of $5,166.90. Of this amount one-half goes to the town in which the dispensary V is located, the other half goes to the county. This is the best showing made since the system was inaugurated, and shows that the people still drink dispensary "booze." Unclaimed Mail. Legislature in Session. \ The Legislator's met in Columbia yesterday, and at once proceeded to organize. There were three nominations for Speaker?Messrs. R. S. Whaley, of Charleston; D. D. McColl, Jr., of Marlboro; and J. Wright Nash, of Spartanburg. On the first ballot Mr. Whaley. received 54; McColl, 49; Nash, 13. Mr. Nash's name was withdrawn and the final vote stood: Whaley,64; McColl, 55. All other officers are the same as heretofore. The Senate was in session for about xone hour. Cole L. To the Editor of the Dispatch: Nice weather during the past week. 4 The grain crops have improved during the past week. Rev. J. D. Shealy is confined to his bed with a severe attack of stomach trouble. Mr. H. E. Eargle has been suffering with a sprained hip, but is able to work again now. Mrs. W. M. Shealy visited relatives "in the Dutch Fork last week. Mr. Monroe Shealy, of Bath, was called to the bedside of his brother, Rev. J. D. Shealy, Saturday. Mr. J. A. E. Shealy is in Columbia doing some work for his brother, Mr. T. E. Shealy. Mr. and Mrs.' W. P. Eargle have moved in the Tyre Shealy house. The stone costs for the cemetery fence at Mt. Hebron have been put up. The fence will be put up sometime in the near future. Many people say that it is a waste of time and money to send these men over the State and make speeches, but if the farmers would attend these meetings and take the advice given it would be one of the best investments that the State has ever made.
