Lee Clinton, colored, who went from this county to Florida about a month ago, was seriously shot iu a difficulty there one day last week and a telegram states that his wounds are thought to be fatal. Four balls took effect-three in the abdomen and one in the breast. . ?Col. R. E. Allison was summoned to Hickory Grove, York county, last Friday afternoon to the bedside of his brother Mr. R. M. Allison, who was sinkiqg rapidly from an internal absoess of which ho had suffered about a week. His brother died before he reached his bedside and the remains wOTe interred Sunday. ?A change of schedule went into effect on the Southern last Sanday. The traio going South now passes Lancaster at 10:10 a. m.; going North at 7:21 p.m. After the 13th inst. through sleepers from New York to Charleston will be put on. Jolly Truesdale, a young negro boy, set two bales of cotton afire at the gin house of Mr. John Bridges last Thursday evening. There were about 100 bales on the yard and bad not the fire beenI extinguished promptly it would hare resulted in very serious loss to Mr. B. The bey claimed that he was smoking and set the cotton afire by accident. -My, Christmas goods are nearly all in the House, and must be opened up.
