Other students are afflicted by digestive problems, sleep deprivation or weakening of the immune system. As midterms again approach, the stress of school rears its ugly head. One way to fight stress would be to stay home and sleep on exam days. Although this idea is appealing, a better answer for both students and their grades could be to try herbal remedies. Herbs have been around for thousands of years. Ancient Eastern cultures used herbal remedies to combat almost every ailment their people faced. Westerners learned how to use herbs from these cultures, and Western doctors supported the use of herbs in medicine until manmade drugs rose to fame around the 1930s. ^ Glenda Ford, an employee at 14 Carrot Whole ( Foods on Sunset Boulevard in West Columbia, thinks herbs hold many benefits for college \ students. ? 1 First, they're affordable.
