After a horrible 0-5 start, the Gamecocks won five of their last six to finish 5-6, and instill confidence and optimism in their supporters. The first game in last year's losing streak was to Saturday's opponent, the Georgia Bulldogs. They were led by Heisman trophy runner-up Garrison Hearst, AllSEC receiver Andre Hastings, and quarterback Eric Zeier. * Fortunately for the Gamecocks, only one of those players is returning from the 10-2 Citrus Bowl team, as Hearst and Hastings opted for the NFL early. UGA will not be without their share of offensive weapons. Zeier has broken just about every school record for passing at Georgia.
