Gamecock head football coach Sparky Woods had this to say about his seniors: "I'm really pleased with our seniors. They've been the primary reason that we've narrowed the gap of the transition and helped the transition develop quicker through the changes of the coaching staff. The Gamecocks were led by senior quarterback Todd Ellis in the win as USC continued its domination over the Pirates (USC leads in the series 7-0). Ellis completed 17 of 32 passes for 360 yards and three touchdowns in-the contest as the Gamecocks had their highest point total 'of the season. On defense, USC forced three turnovers and allowed only 72 rushing yards and 12 first downs. The Gamecock running attack was led by Mike Dingle with 19 carries for 117 yards and Albert Haynes with 101 yards in 22 attempts. The win improved USC's record to 4-1-1. !
