Newsmakers Committee advises shorter sessions A joint committee of the General Assembly today recommended shortening its session by nearly two months and changing revenue forecasting to avoid the shortfalls that have disrupted state agencies in recent years. The committee's preliminary proposals include eliminating the state Budget and Control Board from the budget process.
