Linda Saad, women's housing director, said, "Compared to last year, the waiting list is smaller. Last year, the waiting list was outrageous. We're going down the list a lot faster." David Macaulay, men's housing director, said, "We're going through the waiting list for freshmen quick. A lot of people should have some place by mid September. SAAD SAID when University Inn is filled, twothirds will be occupied by men and one-third will be occupied by women. Ed Bass, director of project development, said state government is behind the delay in opening University Inn. Bass said, "We weren't given permission to start in time. Bass expects the renovations to be completed on this third building in two weeks. Major renovations have been made at University Inn, Bass said. Old gas lines had to be replaced. Macaulay said people who were assigned a room at University Inn were also assigned another room on campus.
