Linda Saad, women's
housing director, said,
"Compared to last year, the
waiting list is smaller. Last
year, the waiting list was
outrageous. We're going
down the list a lot faster."
David Macaulay, men's
housing director, said,
"We're going through the
waiting list for freshmen
quick. A lot of people should
have some place by mid
September. Jt< or mosi 01 me
people who want men's

MACAULAY SAID he
expects some people on the
waiting list to be given a

SAAD SAID when
University Inn is filled, twothirds
will be occupied by
men and one-third will be
occupied by women.
Ed Bass, director of
project development, said
state government is behind
the delay in opening
University Inn.
Bass said, "We weren't
given permission to start in
time. The Joint Bond Review
Committee (in the
Legislature) waited for
months. We were darn lucky

Bass expects the
renovations to be completed
on this third building in two
weeks. Major renovations
have been made at
University Inn, Bass said.

Saad and Macaulav said
they anticipate about 50 to 70
students expected to live on

university. These students,
called "no-shows," are
contacted by the university
to confirm that they will not
be attending the university.
The no-show spaces are then
given to students on the
