Students By Forrest Brown i I Students who are on the i campus housing waiting list are being placed in dorms faster this year than last, despite the delay in opening sections of the University Inn and Woodrow dorm. Linda Saad, women's housing director, said, "Compared to last year, the waiting list is smaller. Last iifoifinn lici wac JfCai , IUC nailing nav nuu outrageous. We're going down the list a lot faster." David Macaulay, men's housing director, said, "We're going through the waiting list for freshmen quick. A lot of people should have some place by midSeptember. For most of the people who want men's housing, we will be able to accommodate them." MACAULAY SAID he expects some people on the waiting list to be given a room this week. Saad said she anticiaptes finishing the freshman women's waiting list. "Every year, we advise them (people on the waiting list) to get a place temporarily," Saad said, "but they usually don't." Saad said with people on the' waiting list getting offcampus housing, the progression down the oncampus list goes faster. SAAD SAID space is available for 3,644 women on campus, plus about 65 spaces for women at OJ Sportswear" &> Custom Printing for Clubs - ii dl imci 9 ai ivj lv-i iv Special Carolina De Ask About Our Same D, 2767 Rosewood Dr Phone 254-9380 5 Mln. 1 "A * I * I * 1 * I * I * I i * I 5 Th< 4 M I 1 * I * I * 1 * 1 waiting f . - ^ .nil university inn, wmcn is sun being filled. Ed Bass, director of project development, said state government is behind the delay in opening University Inn. Bass said, "We weren't given permission to start in time. The Joint Bond Review Committee (in the Legislature) waited for months. We were darn lucky to get the buildings open that we did." Bass expects the renovations to be completed r?n this third huildine in two weeks. Major renovations have been made at University Inn, Bass said. Old gas lines had to be replaced. A resident whose room at University Inn is still being renovated is staying in the other room until renovation is completed. mmm OXFOF If | x CORNER OF MAI HBBHWHHHBHBB / donly sayM ud.
