The paper must have been written during the last two years (not prior to January 1980) while the student was enrolled in a USC degree program. All nominees must be currently enrolled as USC students. Last fall nine graduate students in Carolina's applied history program spent four months in the Fairfield County seat of Winnsboro researching, describing, photographing and cataloguing 109 historical buildings dating from 1770 to 1930.
