Sponsored by the Graduate Regional Studies Department of USC's College of Education and the Association for Humanistic Education and Development, a national organization jthe symposium is designed for teachers, ad9 ministrators and others concerned about the future of elementary and secondary education. Entitled4'The Right to Know, the Right to Teach, the Right to Parent," the symposium will include sessions on cen sorship in the classroom, secular numamsm in ine scnoois, and what humanistic education is and is not. ACCORDING to Dr. E.H. Robinson of the College of Education, "Book censorship, attacks on values clarification programs, labeling as an invasion of privacy and attempts to eliminate any forms of humanistic education from the schools are becoming mpre and more widespread and are - - * ? 1 ? - A having a major impact on counseling ana teacmng practices. ? Billings, founder and educational director of the Montessori Institute of America and founder and president of the Helen K.
