Pickup m* i i i icKet aistri By Brian Duncan GamKock Staff Writer The distribution of student tickets for athletic events has taken several forms in the past, but those directly involved feel the present system is the most equitable yet. Joe Tiller, chairman of the Student Senate Athletic Committee, said the present digit control release formula is "the only fair way of doing it." UNDER THIS system, pick-up is by the last two digits of a student's Social Security number. With distribution assignments roiaieu weeiuy, 11 ensures everyone an equal chance of good seating sometime throughout the year, according to Tiller. Ray Fair cloth, who is beginning his 13th year as athletic ticket manager, said the control release program is in its third year of existence, having been implemented in the fall of 1976. A class system allowing for special consideration of graduate, law and senior students preceded this program , he said. Under the class system the best tickets (the ones closer to mid-field) were set aside for those students who could pick them up at anytime convenient to them, Faircloth said. Juniors sonhnmnrps anri frpshmpri w#>rp crivpn in decending order by class, he said, which usually meant ; reshmen and in many cases sophomores were seated in the er*1 zone at every game.
