Longstreet Theater on Green Street is also under renovation. Some modernizations will be made in the buildings, but there is an effort to "retain that which is good from the past," Brunton said. The buildings are being restored to their original decor. "THE HORSESHOE is something absolutely unique," said Bnmton. He said USC is one of the few universities in the country that can claim a campus that existed before 1850. Of the original buildings, only the president's house no longer stands. Brunton said the Horseshoe was not damaged during the building on campus in 1930. The committee does not want to pi escrvc 111c nursesiiue us a museum, but as an area of prac i f jrfSkk i Ij P.S. O'SHEA, mother of two, said, "I had been one of those people who would read the stories (about child abuse) in the paper and say 'that's an isolated case.' " She later found that there were 6,000 reported cases of child abuse in South Carolina in the last 12 months. Hartley spoke about the nurses' role in preventing and treating child abuse and neglect.
