Former Carolina players Nat Ewell and Bob Grondahl said the reason for the new club's for mation was a division among players of USC's club. "The reason myself and many others left was that the Carolina team was taking the fun out of the game," Ewell said. "PeoDle were divided intofactions. "The attitud was just bad." "Part of the reason was dissension but I think the majority of the people are playing on the Greys because they couldn't travel as much as we do or make our practices." Since the Greys are not associated with the University, they will have to find a source of money for uniforms and traveling expenses. "We have already had a committment from Schlitz beer."
