NC Stat U NIARK LEARY Sports Writer North Carolina State capitalized on numerous Carolina mistakes to win the First Carolina Invitational Rugby Tournament 7-4 ending the Gamecock's home winning streak at 37 games. Missed penalty kicks and hard hittiqg defense by both teams dominated the first half of play. At the end of the first half the two teams were deadlocked in a scoreless tie. The Wolfpack missed three attempts for field goals while Carolina missed on one attempt. The second half opened with State missing another penalty kick but Carolina's luck did not hold out as the Wolfpack converted on a 30 yard penalty kick to give the visitors a lead they did not relinquish.
