Horn player Gary Barone and drummer James B. Gordon were arrested during an intermission in the show between 10:45 and 10:55 according to Sgt. Galvin of the Columbia Police Department narcotice squad. Both musicians posted $5,000 bond and were released to their attorney. liv boies Rusel House h amu.Unariunnn USC students count ballots Ten USC students will be check ing voter results in Tuesday's elec tion. Selected from Delta Sigma Pi, professional business fraternity, the students will be "looking over the South Carolina Election Com mission's results. If we find any discrepancies we will declare them. Then it must be decided whose mis take it was, and a possible recount held," Olin Rowe, fraternity treasurer said. He added that the commission usually chose its own independant auditors to check the results, and the back-up people usually came from CPA firms. I work for a CPA firm and found out the commission needed auditors and thought it would make a good project for the fraternity. Rowe said, I just happened to be in the right place at the right time. To my knowledge, he said, this is the first time students have been allowed to serve in this capacity. arrests When the mothers appeared on stage Frank Zappa prefaced the performance with "Our regular drummer couldn't be here tonight because he has a peculiar malady." At the end of the performance the crowd at the auditorium began screaming more, more as is the cus tom for requesting an encore. Zappa, however, cut the show short saying that circumstances beyond his control prevented extending the performance for another number. Gordon was a member of "Derek and the Dominoes." 1.
