S.C. yout groups c While most South Carolina election conversation is centering around the status of the Democratic primary, several groups have been making a con certed effort to organize potential voters. 11.1 registered Gordon Kenna, representing the YOUTH CITIZENSHIP FUND, INC., is working with organized groups in Greenville, ChareAten and Columbia in an attempt te promote voter registration. Particularly interested Is student registration Kem; pointed out that while Columbia has an extremely large per centage of 18 - 24 year-olds (36 per cent) only about 11.1 per cent of this segmeit of the voting population is registered to vote. Reeves, associate dean of the University of South Carolina Graduate School since 1968, has been appointed head of the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures. A member of the University faculty since 1953, Dr. Reeves has also served as chairman of USC's program in comparative literature since 1965. Dr. Reeves succeeds Dr. David G. Speer, who will remain on the faculty as professor of French. The appointment, effective August 1, was announced by Bruce W. Nelson, dean of The College of Arts and Sciences.
