Do men to runb Do men in front-line management positions really know how to manage? The director of the Management Center of the 'Collee-of Business Administratiom says the answer probably is "no." Elbert Horton says somt managers have picked up fun damentals from years of ex periences and others have acquired them through formal exposure such as college and special management programs. "The majority of managers, however," Helton says, "still need some broad business management education." USC is doing something about the situation through its continuing education programs providing education to managers at all levels. "Role playing in the area of communications, for example, was especially effective in dramatizing the flaws in communications in business," Helton said. Besides communications, the course covers human relations business organization, business policy, labor relations, data control, marketing and economics and finance. He points out there are 24 olleges and universities in the tate who are approved by the loard to prepare teachers.
